New release in March: Fujieda EP—all you need to know

More things are coming to celebrate the Asian Kung-Fu Generation’s 30th anniversary. A new EP is to be released this month!
Fujieda EP will be released on 25 March, It will include four brand-new songs! All tracks were recorded at the MUSIC Inn Fujieda, a studio co-founded by Gotch in the city of Fujieda, located near his hometown of Shimada (Shizuoka).
The album cover is drawn once again by Yusuke Nakamura who continues his long-standing collaboration with the band.
The opening track Hizakurige takes its title from an abbreviation of Toukaidouchuu Hizakurige, a novel from the Edo period depicting the journey of two adventurers travelling from Kyoto to Edo. Both Shimada and Fujieda are located along the historic route. Okaeri Johnny which serves as the lead track is a mid-tempo song with a groovy feel. Its lyrics and title references Naminori Johnny, a famous song by Keisuke Kuwata, the main vocalist of the legendary band Southern All Stars. Additionally, the song features backing vocals by Ikuko Harada, singer of clammbon. Nam Pla Biyori—a cover of the Spitz’s song—will serve as the third track, Nam Pla refers to a Thai fish sauce. Track number four Pedal Boat serves as the closer.

The EP will have two editions:
- Regular edition [CD] for 1,100 yen (tax included)
- Limited edition [CD + Blu-ray] for 3,300 yen (tax included)
The limited edition contains a behind-the-scenes documentary of the members recording the new songs at the MUSIC Inn Fujieda.
