Following the recent release of ‘Surf Bungaku Kamakura (Complete)’, Masafumi Gotoh has leaked a little information about the coming vinyl version of the release.
On his Instagram page, Gotch has shown a picture of a prototype press of the vinyl record of ‘Surf Bungaku Kamakura (Complete)’.
It doesn’t provide us with no solid information (apart from the fact that the LP will be released, but, considering that every album since ‘Sol-Fa’ got an LP release, it wasn’t much of a question).
WARNING! EVERYTHING BELOW THIS LINE IS A GUESSING WORK WITHOUT ANY PROOF BEHIND IT!
We can try to guess when this LP is going to come out.
We know that the last 3 albums’ vinyl editions were released with some delay:
Album | CD | LP | Difference |
Sol-Fa (2016) | 30 Nov 2016 | 19 April 2017 | 140 d (20 w) |
Hometown | 5 Dec 2018 | 15 May 2019 | 161 d (23 w) |
Planet Folks | 30 March 2022 | 26 Oct 2022 | 210 d (30 w) |
So, based on this data we can, using a simple maths, make a prediction. The progression is as follows: 20 w, 23 w, 30 w. Therefore, the LP waiting period grew by 3 weeks for ‘Hometown’ if compared to ‘Sol-Fa (2016)’; and it grew by 7 weeks for ‘Planet Folks’ compared to ‘Hometown’. If we apply the logical rules, we get that now it must grow by 11 weeks (the change in growth was 4 weeks). It means that the current LP version may be released in 41 weeks (287 days) after the release of the CD version – and it makes it the 17 April 2024.
However, it is just a guess for everyone’s amusement and must not be considered as any valuable piece of information.
