Yamada and Ijichi Take Part in a New Song for Bleach

Asian Kung-Fu Generation bassist and drummer helped creating a new song for a piece of Bleach-related media.
Suisoh performs Bleach Mirrors High‘s opening theme song, titled CRITICAL. Bleach Mirrors High is a new action mobile game developed by Bandai Namco Entertainment in close collaboration with Bleach creator Tite Kubo. The story takes place after the Thousand-Year Blood War and follows two protagonists, Shirane Sanari and Shirin Migashima.
The song was written by Suisoh. Two members of Asian Kung-Fu Generation contributed to the song: with Takahiro Yamada arranging it and playing bass while Kiyoshi Ijichi played the drums.
Suisoh’s comments:
It’s an honour to have collaborated on this project with Takahiro Yamada of Asian Kung-Fu Generation. When it comes to collaborations, I place the greatest importance on synergy, and this time, we took a different approach from the last ending theme MONOCHROME. We combined elements of band music and electronic music. For the recording, joined by members of the AKG team: Yamada-san on bass and Kiyoshi Ijichi on drums. From the Suisoh team, Yuto Shimizu contributed on guitar. With the support of these incredibly talented and reliable musicians, we were able to create a piece of music where a sense of exhilarating speed coexists with a floating, weightless atmosphere. I believe this song has become one that gives a warm send-off and encouragement to the new protagonists, including Shirin and Shirane, as they embark on their journey. I would be delighted if you listened to it again and again!

Every time the nearly 20-year-old song After Dark gets the crowd going at live performances even today, I am reminded of just how great the work Bleach truly is. And now, I am truly honoured to once again be involved in creating music through this new and old collaboration with Suisoh. To complement Suisoh’s wide-ranging and intricate musicality, as well as the imagery and progression built within it, I aimed to create an arrangement with a consistent underlying core, while taking a different approach for each individual part. A dignified song with hidden inner strength. CRITICAL, the theme song for Mirrors High. I hope it becomes an ignition that raises every player’s reiatsu (spiritual pressure)!
The song was released on 28 October 2026, while its official music video premiered on 3 November 2026.
