Kiyoshi Ijichi’s interview to akfgfragments

This short interview was taken by Spectrum Management Indonesia staff after Kiyoshi’s drumming session in Jakarta on 22 February 2025.
They selected a portion of the questions we had prepared: some were from our team, one was asked by our friends from AKFGFan.com, and we also asked the fans in our Discord server what they would ask Kiyoshi had the chance come.
Questions from akfgfragments
The last time you were in Indonesia, you were here with the band. Now, you’re on your own, with your programme. How different does it feel from that time?
Kiyoshi: Usually, I am the one supporting other band members from the back of the stage, but this time, I was in front—as a frontman—so, I felt very nervous.
Are you hyped for the Nano-Mugen Fes. in Jakarta? It’s the first time for AKG to hold it overseas. What do you personally expect?
Kiyoshi: I’m very excited. I’m looking forward to interacting with Jakarta’s musicians and getting to know Jakarta’s music scene better.
Would you like to expand Nano-Mugen more widely into the world?
Kiyoshi: I hope that this Jakarta event will serve as an opportunity to expand even further.
You’re known as an excellent cook. What would you call your favourite dish to eat and your favourite dish to make?
Kiyoshi: It’s curry.
One more thing about cooking, would you add something from Indonesian cuisine to Kiyoshi’s Kitchen?
Kiyoshi: It seems interesting to add the essence of Indonesian cuisine! Please let me know what you think of my food. I’d like to use it as a reference.
A question from AKFGFan.com
We know that you love both: drumming and cooking. You could even say that both require precision with using your hands. Do you think there are any similarities or connections between the two hobbies? Do you often think about ways you can combine music and cuisine, as you have done Kiyoshi’s Kitchen at festivals?
Kiyoshi: The way of thinking is similar. Flavouring the ingredients and adding rhythmic patterns to the sound source are similar.
Questions from fans
Which Ajikan MV did you have the most fun participating in?
Kiyoshi: Empathy. Because the shooting time was very, very short.
Would you be willing to come back to France for both music and cooking? (Or to any European or American country. — added by akfgfragments)
Kiyoshi: Yes, of course. What kind of cuisine do people in France expect from me? I would be happy if you could let me know!
Thanks a lot for your answers. We, at akfgfragments, really appreciate that you’ve agreed to do this Q&A session. Do you have anything else to add to all the fans around the world who will read it?
Kiyoshi: Thank you for your continued support. We live in Japan, so we cannot meet with all of you often. But while writing songs we think about performing in different countries. We always check our social networks. And we feel connected to you.
