Asian Kung-Fu Generation just announced a new album release date and tracklist! Read inside to find out more!

Almost a year ago, we published an article with all information we had known back then about a ‘Surf Bungaku Kamakura’ sequel. Today, Asian Kung-Fu Generation confirmed that their new studio album – and a sequel/re-recording of an iconic Surf – will be released on the 5th of July this year.

Basic Information

This release is going to be called the same way (which makes it pretty similar to ‘Sol-Fa (2016)’) but with an additional comment – ‘Surf Bungaku Kamakura (Complete Version)’. Why is it called a Complete Version? The answer is simple: the original album contained ten songs named after one of Enoden’s stops, but some stations were left-out. So, this time the band added five new songs to cover the whole length of the railway. Moreover, the original ten songs were re-recorded (another resemblance to ‘Sol-Fa (2016)’).

The original ‘Surf Bungaku Kamakura’ had songs going in non-Enoden order. It was not in the order stations go along the Enoshima Electric Railway. For the new album Asian Kung-Fu Generation decided to order the songs the same way stations go from Fujisawa to Kamakura.

Five new songs are as follows:

• Ishigami Hills
• Yanagikouji Parallel Universe
• Nishikata Coast Story
• Nissaka Downhill
• Wadazuka Wonders

If you compare the song titles with the existing stations, you may notice that the two don’t match. It’s because Nishikata is an old name for Shounankaigankouen station and Nissaka – for Kamakurakoukoumae.

Two of these five new songs were released before. Yanagikouji Parallel Universe is a part of ‘Demachiyanagi Parallel Universe’ single, while Nissaka Downhill is a part of ‘Shukuen’.
