New song featuring in anime

Author: tima

On 30 September, on Disney+ (at least in Japan) the anime based on the novel ‘Time Machine Blues of Four and a Half Tatami’ (Yojouhan Time Blues, 四畳åŠã‚¿ã‚¤ãƒ ãƒžã‚·ãƒ³ãƒ–ルース) will be aired. This anime is going to feature a yet unreleased Asian Kung-Fu Generation song named ‘Demachiyanagi Parallel Universe’ (出町柳パラレルユニãƒース).

The novel on which the anime will be based is a sequel to ‘The Tatami Galaxy’ (Yojouhan Shinwa Taikei, 四畳åŠç¥žè©±å¤§ç³») by Tomihiko Morimi (which had its own anime of the same name as well). The sequel was written by Tomihiko Morimi and Makoto Ueda and is about to be re-released on 10 June.

The song which is going to feature in the anime was already played during the current tour ‘Planet Folks’ under the name ‘Yanagikouji Parallel Universe’. Yunagikouji is the 13th station of Enoshima Electric Railway (a.k.a. Enoden). Enoden’s stations were featured in the titles of all songs of the ‘Surf Bungaku Kamakura’ album, and it is known that Asian Kung-Fu Generation is recording a sequel to that — we had an article about stuff currently known.

Moreover, Asian Kung-Fu Generation’s songs were featured in other anime based on Tomihiko Morimi’s novels — ‘The Tatami Galaxy’ (Maigoinu to Ame no Beat) and ‘Night Is Short, Walk on Girl’ (Kouya wo Aruke).
